Pablo Fagundes, born in Brasilia-Brazil, began his musical journey 16 years ago. In 1992, he was able to find the black roots of blues in the diatonic harmonica. Today, he endeavors to consolidate the chromatic and diatonic harmonicas in Brazilian music. A genuine researcher of this instrument, he created, introduced and teaches the first chromatic harmonica course at Raphael Rabello, the most important choro school in Brazil located within the premises of the Brasilia Choro Club. He is a founding member of the “Pé de Cerrado” cultural group, specialized in regional Brazilian rhythms (coco, maracatu, ciranda and baião) and firmly established with the release of their second CD.
In 2004, he played in the opening act of BB King’s show in Brasilia, as part of the Brazilian All Stars Blues Band. In 2006, he played choros and his own compositions during the Fifth Harmonica Festival, at Sesc Pompéia-SP. In 2007, he was the only Brazilian harmonica player invited to the 44th SPAH (Society for the Preservation and Advancement of the Harmonica) in Milwaukee-WI, the oldest and most traditional harmonica convention in the USA, together with acclaimed musicians such as J.J. Milteau, Peter Mad Cat, Stan Harper and Howard Levy. He also released a CD entitled “Ted and Pablo Transcontinental Music Express” in a tour throughout the United States in the same year.
He had the opportunity to participate in the Mandolin Symposium in Santa Cruz University-CA, playing with David Grisman, Mike Marshall and Hamilton de Holanda. Pablo just finished recording his first solo CD, to be released soon, with the participation of Dominguinhos and other musicians from Brasilia.
