Jason Joseph’s story reads like a Coen brothers movie…he was born in Des Moines, Iowa, America’s heartland, the son of Indian immigrants from Kerala, a coastal state with a large Christian population in southern India.
The AM radio introduced Jason to the music that would shape his own artistic vision. From Marvin Gaye to Michael Jackson, Johnny Cash to Donny
Hathaway, these voices, intermingled with the tabla and dhol of India, melded into a stylistic gumbo that shaped his sound as a writer and singer.
After attending college at the University of Florida and Berklee, Jason moved to Los Angeles to pursue the dream. In L.A., he quickly became integrated
into the independent music scene performing regularly at the Temple Bar, Molly Malone’s, and the Libertine. His singing quickly caught the attention of songwriters and producers, and Jason was soon singing on tracks for Hollywood Records, Warner Brothers, and the Cartoon Network while also delivering show-stopping performances alongside the likes of Missy Elliot, Akon & Erykah Badu.
Through all of this, he was writing the songs that have become his first studio album, Out Of My Mind: Side A. Produced with the help of Charlton Pettus and Ryan Freeland, Out Of My Mind: Side A captures this young artist at the peak of his creative powers, assimilating the sounds of his childhood into a strong personal statement.
Out Of My Mind: Side A is at its core a soul record – it speaks straight from the soul and instantly touches the heart with songs covering issues from love to politics, despair to hope. With one of the great soul voices of our time, Jason Joseph has made a work that would have seemed impossible 10 years ago…a soul record by an Indian singer from the heartland of America. Things change.

Leddie’s musical influences include God, his family, The Beatles, Motown, Rock n’ Roll!!!! Alex Acuna, Bernard Purdie, Airto Moreiro , Narada Michael Walden, and Carl Stalling have been major influences. His sound can be heard across genres from Pop Music to Jazz Fusion, with Brazilian, and South Pacific Rhythms with Latin influences. Leddie describes his adaptive approach to performing as “wordly hybrid style of percussion styles blended into one.
Sounds From The Vault:
Award winning multi-media exhibit at the “Chicago Field Museum”.
Leddie Garcia with Bruce Odland and Sam Auinger’s, “Sounds From The Vault”, a playable orchestration of virtual instruments for the Chicago Field Museum, won the Gold Muse Award from the Association of American Museums. Leddie played the key role of Principal Percussionist and Committee Advisor. Letting “outsider”, professional musicians like Leddie Garcia, come in and play these priceless artifacts is almost unheard of in the museum world. With his diligent efforts, Leddie mastered an instrument called a friction block. “I’d never seen a friction block”, said Garcia, “so I continued to experiment with this unusual instrument”. At some point, I started rubbing it, and it finally spoke to me, making this ululating sound”. Leddie played 32 of 50 priceless instruments collected for this award-winning exhibit. (Quotes from The Chicago Tribune with staff writer William Mullen).

Growing up in Rochester, New York, Chaun Horton´s first introduction to music and drums was under the strict tutelage of his father, who conveniently also happened to be a church organist. With his father´s guidance and teaching, Chaun received the opportunity to play not only for his church, but other state choirs and events as well. This valuable experience allowed Chaun to become a drummer for the Monroe Community College Big Band in upstate New York, where he began performing at community events and studio recordings.
After attending a camp held by the LA Music Academy, Chaun found himself enrolling the following month on a full scholarship, where he has since graduated. The LA Music Academy is an intensive contemporary music education program founded in 1996 by a number of prominent LA-based players, who also have significant music education experience.
Chaun has had the privilege of sharing the stage with artist such as Macy Gray, Raphael Saadiq, Jessica Simpson, J´Davey, Doug E. Fresh, Tal Wilkenfeld, Geoffrey Keezer and many others, He is now the current drummer for International Pop artist Natasha Bedingfield and is gearing up to take the stage with her on another world wide tour coming to a city near you.
